Concrete Column Calculator
Use this calculator to estimate how many cubic yards of concrete you need for cylindrical columns. Simply enter the diameter and height of your column.
Enter Dimensions
How It Works
- Enter the column's diameter in inches
- Enter the column's height in feet
- The calculator converts the diameter from inches to feet
- Calculates the column volume using π × r² × height
- Converts the volume to cubic yards (cubic feet ÷ 27)
Formula: π × (diameter/24)² × height ÷ 27 = Cubic Yards
Tips & Notes
- Add 10% extra concrete to account for spillage and form irregularities
- For square columns, use the concrete slab calculator with equal width and length
- For columns with complex shapes, break down into simpler geometric forms
- Consider proper reinforcement for structural columns
